Three Pieces for Durango

Rock My Soul 3 Straight

I was tasked with designing an interactive experience for Chicken Licken’s fans based on the ‘3 Pieces for Durango’ TV commercial. The experience was designed around the iconic bar scene shown at the end of the commercial, ultimately bringing inner peace in the form of the Rock My Soul 3 Straight meal.

Environment

The saloon was chosen as the ideal environment for the online experience since it was so iconic in the TVC. Designing the space to work digitally meant that we would have to recreate the environment seen in the film from scratch, ensuring it would work responsively on mobile and desktop.

User Journey Wireframes

The design was focused on a simple mobile-first experience which also catered for all other devices.

The Environment

After receiving the 3D plate, I went to work on enhancing the environment in Photoshop.

Podcasts

Books were designed and added to the scene to represent the podcast stories. Each story was read to the user by the Bootless Bandit himself.

UI Elements

Every element of the User Interface was designed to look weathered and hand crafted, fitting into the aesthetics of the Wild West.

Typography

The typeface is a bespoke piece, specifically handcrafted for this project by a freelance designer.

Motivation

Poster designs were put together as Ironic wallpapers for mobile and desktop in the form of Demotivational Posters.

Website

Fully responsive and optimised to be able to work on all devices in any orientation.

Design Roll-out

All the additional elements of the site were then rolled-out, which included Onboarding, Podcast Book Covers, Wanted Poster Generator, Demotivational Wallpapers, Radio Stings played on the Piano, Video Shorts, End frame, and all the various elements making up those pages.

Results

Yielded far beyond industry standards across all metrics.
